Isaac 1st Birthday!

Isaac had is one year pics today! I can't believe he is going to be one on the 26th!!! This year has flown by!!!! I love this sweet boy so much and he is such a blessing to our family! Family Reunion!

I love my boys so much! I am truly blessed and thankful that the Lord choose me to be Zach's wife and the mother of THREE boys! With that said, this was a picture of my boys getting ready for the hay ride at my family reunion this past weekend. This was a reunion for my maternal grandmother's side of the family. She is one of 10 children and 8 are still living. The oldest died of polio at age 3 and one of her brothers died a few years back, but all are in pretty good health. So needless to say with all of their children and grandchildren it was a large group!

Family Bowling night!

We went bowling a few weeks ago and had a great time! We have been so busy we finally had a free Friday night, so off we went! This was our attempt at a family picture, you can barley see Isaac's head behind the monitor and Micah has his finger in his nose. Oh well we tried:)

We went to the alley on the arsenal and there was a group of soldiers bowling next to us and they were so great at helping the kids get their balls out so they would not get their fingers pinched. Of course mommy and daddy helped most of the time:)

Here is is picture of Isaac walking around. Him walking is really not new news, I have just taken a while to get a post up. He took his first steps at 9 1/2 mo and then just took off at 10mo. He is into everything now, but he is so stinkin cute, so it is all good:)

Isaac is 9 Months!

I can't believe you are 9 months old! Where is the time going?!?

Isaac you continue to be the sweetest little boy! You love to play and explore and you are just plain busy. You crawl everywhere and you are cruising now too.
You love music and you always "dance" and clap along. You say "MaMa", "DaDa", "BaBa"(bye bye) and I am pretty sure you are trying to say "more" when you are eating by going "Ma" really loudly and very insistently. You have been saying that with the sign for more the past few days, so I think that is what you are trying to say?
You are letting go of things when you are standing, so I am confident that it will not be long before you start walking. Mommy is not sure if she is ready for three boys running around.:)
You are such a joy and are getting to a really fun age! You are wonderful blessing to your mommy and daddy, we love you Isaac Buggie!

Frustrated Perfectionist!

Well, just as the title says, I am a frustrated perfectionist! I was talking about this with my good friends Emily Eckley and Jessica Mobley, about how I use to have a cleaning schedule and my house was always clean down to the base boards.

SIGH, three BOYS later and those days are gone. How easy it was to get things done with just one child! I am writing this as a plea to other mothers who have multiple children, how do you keep your house up? I am looking for suggestions! My children have chores and do them pretty well, but still I feel behind. I know I have a very high standard and that may be part of the problem?!:) Help fellow moms!

New Washing Machine/Dryer

They are SO much bigger and I am in love! Laundry should be a lot faster!

Training them up!

Training them up in the way they should go? What does that really mean? These are both questions I had early in my mothering years. In those days I was just like so many mothers looking for someone to tell me how to do it. I knew I wanted two things or sure, godly children, and "well" behaved children. I thought arrogantly, "that's easy enough." I was so wrong and had so much to learn. I began this road by trying to do things like someone else or like a book would tell me, this did nothing but frustrate me. God blessed me with a very strong willed and active first born, he did not fit any mold. I also realized that I had somewhat left my sweet husband out of the equation. Don't get me wrong he would pray with him and things like that, but I was making most of the child rearing decisions and he went along with them.
After seeking God's word we sorta took a step back and revamped our approach. Zach began to lead and making most of the child rearing decisions and I began to learn how to follow. Those of you who know me realize that is not easy for me to do.:) Dont get me wrong I still ran the day to day stuff, but he decided the direction. This was so freeing to me! It put the "pressure" where it was supposed to be and really helped me not worry so much.
Now I am so far from perfect and I mess up daily, but my prayer for my children is that they come to know and love Jesus in spite of me. That is our principle/objective. I find sometimes they we can get hung up on the methods and loose sight of the principle. We as moms tend to do this more than anyone. As long as someones principle is ultimately Jesus then we should not get caught up on their methods. Sorry I will get off my soap box for the day.
I post this video not to say look at us, even though I am so proud of my sweet Micah, but I just want to encourage you mommy's to continue to love and train up your sweet children!

House

Dear blog friends,
Please pray for the sale of our house! Someone came and looked at it tonight and liked it. She has narrowed it down to 4 houses. I would love to sell it because I am tired of "trying" to keep it clean. God is in control of this and if we dont sell it and we loose the house we are building then that is what God has for us. I of course want my new house, but God know best!
Trusting in Him

Last day of Pre-K

I meant to post these the other day, but here is Eli on his way to his last day of Preschool. He absolutely loved going to school! He has really grown up this year he is not a toddler or a little boy, but a full out big boy! Love you Eli!
Here is a picture with his teacher Mrs. Cox! We were so happy that he got her as a teacher, she was just what our spunky (strong willed) boy needed! She was firm but very kind had a detailed routine everyday and was just perfect for him. I no longer get rough reports from Sunday school teachers or anyone in a classroom environment! Like I said he is "spunky." We are praying he get a kindergarten teacher like her! Ahhhh Kindergarten!!! How did I get old enough to have a kindergartner!!!!!!!

Isaac is 7 Months

My Sweet Baby Boy is 7 Months! I can hardly believe it, it seems just like yesterday he was born!
He is doing so many fun things right now! I love this age! He can get anywhere he wants to and just wants to get down and go! He has accomplished two new things just today. He grabbed the ottoman and pulled himself up to his knees, he very quickly fell backwards because he does not get the continually holding on thing! Another thing he did today was sitting himself back up after being on his stomach. He has done a lot today because this is the first day he has really felt good since Sat. He is a very happy and content baby and loves people and will go to pretty much anybody. He is such a sweetie, Love you Isaac Buggie!
You will have to excuse the no shirt, he was wearing his dinner!:)

Mothers Day and whats been going on!

Well this is where we hope to live come Aug/Sept. We have to sell our house first, but earnest money has been put down and floor plans picked and building will start in June. So we NEED our house to sell!

House for Sale!

So as the title states our house is for sale! We signed the paperwork yesterday and they are coming to take pictures on weds. We are hoping to get a little more space for our growing three boys! I would like to ask all who read this to please pray with us that it will sell quickly and for the best price.. I am a little nervous about this because I have a number in my head that I want to sell it for so we can make a certain amount off of the house. It is definitely not a sellers market right now:( I am also worried how I am going to keep a house clean enough (showing condition) at all times!!!!!

All by myself!

Well, The title says it all... My hubby is gone on a road trip with his buddies and they are having a great time! I must admit I am a little jealous.:) I thought I would post a link to the blog they are doing while they are on their road trip.. Pretty funny stories already!

Life

On some days life just makes me want to go back to bed! Today has been one of those days! My little one is teething and that has turned a very happy baby into one that does not want to be put down. Because of this I did not get a lab paper done or the laundry folded and more that I can not disclose... Sometimes I think things are getting a little easier and I am getting comfortable then the rug gets pulled out from underneath me...

I now realize that God is stretching me and making me understand that my only true and consistent comfort is from Him. This seems like a lesson I have a hard time learning!

Lord help me to trust in you and not in my circumstances!

Bread

I have decided after almost 2 years to dust off the old bread maker and make some homemade bread. When we lived in Texas I use to make our bread all the time, mainly because I had a lot of time on my hands, but it has been a while and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the smell of fresh bread baking. We eat whole wheat bread in our home and so that is what I decided to start with today, mainly that is because I had everything the recipe called for. :) My husband s going to be pumped to have a turkey sandwich on fresh bread for lunch! I love cooking for my family!

Eli kept asking for Choc. Chip cookies so I made them "for" Easter. I thought we would do something a little different by adding whipped cream and sprinkles to mix, which probably negates the whole wheat flour that they were made with... Oh well!:)

Isaac has started rolling to try and get to things! He has been rolling for a while but never with the intention to get something he wants. Just a minute ago he also started using he legs a little bit (kind of a swimming motion) to propel him forward!
Crawling is not far away! YIKES!

Good Times!

Today has been a good day, not overly eventful, but good. Went and had lunch with Jenn(Ezell) and her momma and my momma at Lil' Rosies! Good times!

Then I sent the boys outside for dinner on the trampoline! Isaac and I joined them and he had a great time laughing with what little up and down motion he got from his brothers jumping. Our backyard was filled with all three of my boys laughing and giggling! I love it! Good Times!

New Routine!

I stumbled on a new routine that I am really enjoying! Isaac decided to start waking up at 4am for a feeding and I am okay with this because I usually get up a 5 anyway. So I wake up with little bug he eats and we rock and I get some good snuggle time that I dont get much of with the third child. It is totally quiet and he goes right back to sleep and it is a perfect time to pray for him and my other boys. Rock, snuggle, pray..... Does not get much better than that!.

At 5 I make some coffee and then start my quiet time. This is the first time my quiet time is actually quiet, moms you understand this! I am reading through Acts right now and really loving being able to read a chapter without being interrupted. I did not realize how much I missed having a quiet quiet time with the Lord! I am losing an hour of sleep but I find I am in a much better mood after some quiet time with the Lord and then I go work out at 6. I come home ready to go and get so much more accomplished. I kept using the excuse that I could not beat my kids up because that get up so early, so my "quiet" time was a little unconventional to say the least. I asked God to show me how I could better serve Him, and so God fixed this "quiet" time problem for me by making little bug start getting up earlier. God takes care of me!

Jesus has super powers!

I was talking with Eli earlier and he said...

E-"mommy, I am going to tell you a story.
K- "okay, what is the story about?"
E- "Jesus!"

So he went through the whole story about Jesus being born in the "barn" and that the angels told the shepherds where he was.

K- "what else did Jesus do?"
E- "mommy! Jesus has superpowers!"
K-"Superpowers?"
E- "yes he made the waves stop waving and mommy Jesus walked on water!"
K- "really!?" " what other superpowers?"
E- "Pray! He prays! Hey mommy I have that superpower too!"

My heart melted, he is listening!

E- "mommy,(face sad now) Jesus died on the cross!"
K- "why?"
E- "because people are bad."

Yes! he is getting it!

E- " but mommy its okay, Jesus is alive!" "They put him in the temple(he meant tomb) but he moved the stone and came out!"" So its okay!"

I just loved this conversation with my little boy, please join me in praying for his future salvation.

Monday

Today was a typical Monday at our house. I had to catch up on some housework that I had let slide over the weekend, all the kids were grumpy from having a busy Sunday and Then I add trying to study for a test that I have to take tomorrow. Sigh...
I struggle with feeling like I am not doing good enough. Does that make sense? If I am cleaning the house than I feel like I am ignoring my kids and same thing with school. Confession, I love being with my kids but, I usually am thinking about what I need to get done that day. I feel bad saying that because I know there are mothers who would love to stay at home with their kids and are not able to. I know in my head that these years are precious, but on some days I just cant seem to cherish them the way I think I should.
My sweet husband often tells me not to put pressure on myself that every mother feels the same way at times. I just want what is best for my kids and that is mother who knows the Lord and lives the example of Jesus Christ. We as parents only have a few years to impact our kids for Jesus and as mother a huge part of their conversion is our responsibility. That is a huge pressure as the primary caregiver! I am working on trusting the Lord, and pray that my sweet children would grow to love Him in spite of what they see in me on Mondays like today. Sorry for getting on my soapbox, my heart just felt heavy after a long day. :)
